Iran-Russia Ties Help Promote Peace, Security In Region, World

Tehran, Nov 5, IRNA – Presidential office chief of staff Mohammad Nahavandian said on Sunday that expansion of relations and cooperation between Iran and Russia would help promote peace and security in the region and the entire world. Nahavandian made the remarks in a meeting with the chairman of Russiaˈs Gazprom oil and gas company Sunday night. Referring to the recent meeting between the two sidesˈ presidents in Kazakhstan, he said the new Iranian government intends to deepen and broaden ties and cooperation with all neighboring states. The Islamic Republic of Iran plays a key role in the region and the world, he said adding that there are suitable grounds to further deepening of ties between the two countries in line with their common interests. The visiting chairman of Russiaˈs Gazprom company, for his part, described his meetings with Iranian officials as very positive and underlined that relations between Iran and Russia are exemplary. Iran’s progress and development at various sectors is very remarkable, he said and voiced his country’s readiness to expand relations with Iran at regional and international levels./end
