MONGOLIA ATTENDS 37TH UNESCO GENERAL CONFERENCE

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and Chairman of the National Commission of the UNESCO L.Bold is taking a part in the 37th General Conference of the UNESCO.
The conference has been running in Paris, the French Republic, November 5-20 with the leaders and ministers of 150 countries.
Addressing the Leaders Forum, held within the General Conference, Mr Bold said that education plays a prominent role in consolidating the democratic governance, protecting human rights, achieving Millenium Development Goals /MDG/, developing human capabilities, alleviating poverty, and strengthening mutual understanding between the nations.
He also stressed that it is important for all to reflect UN resolutions on Education for Democracy and on Literacy initiated by Mongolia in post-2015 development agenda and to build an international partnership in order to achieve the goals.
During the opening session of the general Conference, Mr Bold met with Mr Hao Ping, who was elected the president of the 37th General Conference of the UNESCO. Our Minister congratulated him on being elected as such, from China and expressed a confidence that the cooperation between Mongolia and the UNESCO will develop more during his term of office.
The same day, Mr Bold had a talk on cooperation with the Assistant Director-General for External Relations and Public Information Eric Falt, and a Chief of the Asia Pacific Desk of World Heritage Center Jing Feng.
