Resolution adopted initiated by Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A resolution on supporting the global citizenship agenda through education for democracy, initiated by Mongolia, was adopted by the 37th meeting of the General Conference of the UNESCO on November 18. This time the conference in Paris is discussing November 5-20 a draft of a mid-term strategy for 2014-2021. Main goal of the UNESCO for eight years to come is to make its contribution to preparing global citizenship through education for peace, mutual-understanding and sustainable development. The officials of the UNESCO stressed of the importance of the initiative forwarded by Mongolia in the frames of the UNESCOs' term. Moreover, the resolution will be a significant impetus to stimulating the realization of UN Resolution on Education for Democracy adopted at the General Assembly session of the UN one year ago and to expanding the role and participation of the UNESCO in this activity.
