Mongolian leader delivers lecture at Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On November 22, Mr Ts.Elbegdorj gave a lecture at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam in Hanoi. A head of the Academy Dang Dinh Quy expressed a gratitude to our President for visiting them and invited him to the podium. Mr Elbegdorj stated,"I am happy to be lecturing at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, and would like to start my lecture with Mongolia’s experience of transition to democracy. Our countries’ relations were laid down by our ancestors remain unattained. Vietnam’s great leader Ho Chi Minh visited Mongolia in 1955. Mongolia and Vietnam will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations in next year. One of the peculiarities between our countries is that we do not arise any conflicts. We always have been mutually supportive. The posterities have to further develop the good relations. The main purpose of this state visit lies within this scope. We have great potential to advance our cooperation in various sectors by mutually exchanging technologies, and establishing joint entities. Mongolia will do its best to achieve it. "If you are interested to see a country that had gone through the most struggles and hardships, visit Mongolia. Mongolia has more than 50 million heads of livestock. I was born in a regular herdsman’s family. After the secondary school graduation, I studied at the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics for five years, followed by master’s degree in public administration from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. If you are concerned about your education, please choose Harvard University. You will gain an internationally approved education. "An individual has to dream big and set an ultimate goal. Big dreams will lead to a big success. After graduating from the university at the USSR and working as a reporter, together with my like-minded friends we rallied in the streets of Ulaanbaatar uniting our voice for democratic transformations during the 1990s. We achieved our goal by peace. Thus, we transitioned to multi-party system, free market and gave rights to the people of Mongolia. "Equal implementation of law, good governance and government without corruption is crucial for the transition to a healthy democracy. In 2011, Mongolia led the economic growth worldwide. Mongolia was the fastest decreasing country on the international corruption index, dropping from 120 in 2011 to 94 the following year." After the speech, the President answered students’ questions. To the question "Being bordering with two big countries, does Mongolia encounter border conflicts? If yes, how does Mongolia deal with the matter?”, he said,"Chinggis Khaan founded the biggest and the strongest Empire. The secret is that Mongolians abode under the Empire’s core law, called 'Ikh Zasag'. Some people think that Mongolians did not abide any laws. Mongolians have been respecting people’s trust, belief and religion. Some people think that paper money and black powder originated in China, no, they were created in Mongolia. Mongolia encounters neither border nor political and economic conflicts. We have mutually respected each other and developed our peaceful relations." About Mongolia's active participation in the international peacekeeping the President said Mongolia is one of the top 20 countries who send their peacekeepers. Mongolia’s population is small, but number of peacekeepers is big, "and this state Visit I am going to meet with troops who served in South Sudan". Established in 1956 as University of Foreign Affairs, the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam has more than 350 professors, 2,500 students, including some Mongolians. Academy every year admits sixty students for master and doctoral degree, 450 student for undergraduates in international relations, international law, international economy, English and French studies.
