TOP ATHLETES AND TEAMS TO BE SELECTED SOON

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The "Borte chono" annual ceremony to select top athletes and teams of Mongolia will take place December 23 in Ulaanbaatar. Traditionally, the best athletes, teams and coaches will be named through a closed poll among sport journalists and media at the Mongolian Sports Journalists’ Union, and the “Borte Chono” Trophy will be awarded to one best athlete. As for this year, 27 athletes were nominated for the top athlete prize, such as M.Urantsetseg, an international master of sports and judo world champion (women’s 48 kg); S.Battsetseg, a State Honored Sportswoman, silver medalist of FILA Wrestling Championships and Universiade champion; B.Ser-Od, a State Honored Sportsman and marathon Asian champion; and D.Sumya, a world champion for sambo wrestling. Four teams are nominated for the top team award. Moreover, ten coaches for judo, freestyle wrestling, sambo wrestling, bodybuilding, ice hockey, chess, weightlifting, basketball and football are competing for the best coach prize.
