RECEPTION HELD FOR MONGOLISTS IN SOUTH KOREA

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Embassy of Mongolia in the Republic of Korea held last week a reception dedicated to the S.Korean Mongolists.
The event has attracted Kim Jong-jin, a head of the South Korean Association of Mongolian Studies (SKAMS); Li Song-gyu, a director of the Foreign Language School at the Dankook University; Song Ben-gu, a manager of the Department of Mongolian Language; other Mongolists; also teachers of the university, diplomats of the Embassy, and Honorary Consuls.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the country Mr B.Ganbold opened the reception, noting that the Association of Mongolian Studies and Mongolists have significantly contributed to the development of the Mongol studies and to propaganda of Mongolia around the world. This year, a foundation was established to support the Mongol studies, and the 20th anniversary of the Mongolian Language Department of the Dankook University was celebrated, he added.
Mr Kim thanked the Mongolian state for rendering support to Mongolists and said the Association will expand scientific works and their contents.
During the event, the scholars granted the Ambassador compilation books on Mongol studies by the S.Korean Mongolists. They also enjoyed a concert of Mongolian national folk art.
Founded in 1990, the SKAMS has joined 280 scholars so far.
