STATE LEADERS OF CANADA SEND CONGRATULATORY LETTERS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On occasion of the 40th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Canada, the State and government leaders of the two countries have exchanged congratulatory letters.
The Governor-General of Canada Mr David L.Johnston sent a letter to the State Head of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj, saying that Canada and Mongolia have already realized their partnership in the fields of education, trade, defense and peacekeeping, and that Canada will always be together with Mongolia in any times, "let us cooperate in the next forty and further years".
In their letters, the Speakers of the Senate and of the House of Commons Mr Noel Kinsella and Andrew Scheer expressed a satisfaction with an active development of the ties between the legislative bodies, and affirmed a willingness to expand this cooperation.
Last forty years, our countries have strengthened the cooperation in trade and investment sectors and have augmented the inter-citizen exchange,"we are also successfully developing relations in frames of the multilateral cooperation, and I hope we will continue our cooperation at international arena within the United Nations and Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe," Canada’s Foreign Minister Mr John Baird said in a letter to his Mongolian counterpart Mr L.Bold.
After having established the diplomatic relations on November 30 of 1973, the two countries have been collaborating in the politics, economics and investment spheres. It is considered that Canada is the sixth largest investor for Mongolia.
The two countries have done some specific works, attaching a great importance to the anniversary of the diplomatic relations. For example, a photo exhibition about the North Pole was mounted last July, and a Mongolia-Canada educational fair was organized last October. Furthermore, the Speaker of the State Great (parliament) Khural Z.Enkhbold, and the Governor-General Mr David Johnston paid visits to each other countries.
Regarding the inter-citizen ties, the government of Canada has decided to issue the 10-year multi-visa to Mongolian citizens, whereas the Mongolian government made a decision to allow the Canadians to visit Mongolia without visa for up to 30 days.
