AMBASSADOR-AT-LARGE S.BADRAL ADDRESSES COD MEETING ONLINE

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ambassador-at-Large of Mongolia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs S.Badral has participated online in the 11th meeting of the Board Council of the Community of Democracies (CoD) and in the third meeting of the Working Group on Education for Democracy, which ran December 10-11 in Warsaw, Poland. Mr Badral underlined that it is vital to improve the CoD’s governance and effectiveness of actions, and backed a proposal on setting up an unofficial working group on this matter. Highlighting an importance of donations from the CoD Board Council members to activation of the Community’s activities, he proposed creating a phased system of taxation based on the UN’s practice and hosting the CoD Board Council's 12th meeting during the 25th session of the UN Human Rights Council, which is expected in March of 2014 in Geneva, Switzerland. At the meeting of the Working Group on Education for Democracy, co-chaired by Mongolia and Poland, the Ambassador said the UN General Assembly and the UNESCO approved resolutions on the education for democracy initiated by Mongolia. He also said Mongolia wants to host a conference on realizing the resolution.
