MPs sign declaration

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Political parties in parliament, their chairmen, and independent MPs signed up a declaration to the President's initiative of "From Big Government to Smart Government" on Saturday. At the signing ceremony, a head of the President’s Office P.Tsagaan briefed on actions within this initiative so far, which include a national consultative meeting “From Big Government to Smart Government” on November 16 and an open discussion of the President with MPs on December 6, at which an idea to sign this declaration was pushed forward. Under this declaration, the MPs and political parties agree to cooperate in development and improvement of state systems and services, adaptation of principles of democracy and free market, provision of joint policy of the state and its service coherence, capacity building of public officials, introduction of accountability to all levels of public service, abolition of interference of the state in business operations, and separation of politics from the influences of business, strengthening of fighting against corruption, promotion of national manufacturing and economic growth of private entities, forming of a state system that promotes the participation of legal governance, a research based decision-making, promotion of direct democracy, determination of long-term national development policy, improvement of election law, and to introduction of widespread use of information technology. The declaration was inked by Parliamentary Party Factions Chairmen--D.Erdenebat (Democratic Party), S.Byambatsogt (Mongolian People’s Party), N.Battsereg (the Justice Coalition), S.Oyun (Civil Will-Green Party) and by a Chairman of Independent Members' Council in parliament S.Ganbaatar and others.
