Speaker greets on anniversary of Mongolian free press

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Speaker of the State Great Khural (parliament) Z.Enkhbold Monday greeted the media people on the 25th anniversary of foundation of the Mongolian free press and journalism and 15th anniversary of the Mongolian Union of Newspapers. The Speaker highlighted significant contribution of the free press to propagandizing the values of human rights and freedom, social values of democracy, and to forming the ideology and confidence of people. He also emphasized that the media was in the vanguard of transmission of the previous social structure into the current democracy, making a new history of the country. Saying that the media, called a Fourth power, has been a strong weapon in educating the present society, Mr Enkhbold underlined that the media role will be helpful all the times, healing the society, protecting it against unfair matters and boosting the confidence of generations. The Speaker stressed an importance of reality and urgency of the media and expressed a hope that Mongolian journalists will maintain a principle of being apart of the political bias.
