Vietnam drops behind at ASEAN Skills Competition
Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam drops to the 4 th place overall at the 7th ASEAN Skills Competition 2008 (ASC) in Malaysia , a big step backward from the top position in the two previous contests, according to General Department of Vocational Training Affairs.
At the 7 th ASC, which is wrap up on Nov. 19, the competitors from ASEAN
countries showed off their skills in 19 professions, including industrial
electricity, construction, information technology, cooking and tailoring.
Vietnam won four gold medals in restaurant service, cooking, website
design and information technology.
The team also earned a silver medal in information technology, seven
bronzes and ten excellent certifications.
At the sixth ASEAN Skills Competition in Brunei , Vietnam took home
first prize for the second time in a row, winning six gold, two silver and
five bronze medals.- Enditem
