Cleric Urges Shi’a, Sunni Religious Leaders To Deny Takfiries’ Ties With Islam

Tehran, Jan 4, IRNA – Prominent Sunni clerics, who are highly disappointed with the conduct of the murderer Takfiri wild beasts are advised to join Shi’a clergies in announcing that those criminals’ deeds are fully unrelated to Islam, Friday prayers leader of Tehran said in his 2nd sermon here Friday. “The Shi’s and Sunni clerics would save Islam’s prestige if they would do so,” said Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Khatami, addressing hundreds of Tehrani worshipers in central campus of the University of Tehran. He reiterated that the Takfiri terrorists create more crimes in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and elsewhere with the passage of each new day and resort to yet more terrorist acts, so that a single Takfiri terrorist recently confessed to murdering of 350 innocent people thus far. The Interim Friday prayers leader appreciated the Iraqi government’s efforts aimed at uprooting terrorism, considering effective continuation of that move the sole way for establishment of peace and stability in that country. The UN General Assembly voted by consensus to approve the “World against Violent Extremism” (WAVE) Act, against all types of terrorism, including state-sponsored terrorism. Iran’s WAVE Act urges member nations to take “appropriate measures to strengthen universal peace and to achieve international cooperation in solving international problems of an economic, social, cultural, or humanitarian character.” It also encourages “respect for human rights and for fundamental freedoms for all without distinction of any kind such as to race, color, sex, language, religion, political or other opinions, national or social origin, property, birth, or other status.” Iran also asks that member states refrain “from the threat or use of force.” Israel was the lone voice to raise objections to the measure. ** The US favors instability in Islamic world Khatami said that the entire terrorists are linked to Washington, adding that this is not a baseless motto. “That is because the Americans favor an insecure atmosphere in the Islamic world and the Saudis, who have confessed to creating crimes in Lebanon and in Iraq act as their agents in the region,” he said. Member of the Leadership Experts Assembly said that the United States and its allies are ready for setting the entire region ablaze in order to achieve their satanic objectives, but by grace of Almighty God they would fail in achieving their goals. ** Iran needless of participation in Geneva II Conference Referring to the US pressure to exclude Iran from the invited countries to the upcoming Geneva II Conference on Syria, the Friday prayers Imam said that the Islamic Republic has truly no interest in participation in that conference. “In the absence of Iran, though, the Geneva conference would beyond doubt face defeat and lead nowhere,” added the prominent cleric. Whether you like it, or not, Iran is a major power in the Islamic world today, and its presence in any gathering leads to the emergence of sound logic and true sympathy for the people, which is not what the global oppression system, led by the US, favors, he said. The Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Al-Muallem on December 29 once again underlined his country’s support for Iran’s participation in the Geneva II international conference on Syria. “This is not logical that Iran will not attend the Geneva II conference,” the Syrian foreign minister said. The Geneva II Conference on Syria is slated to be held on January 22 in Geneva, Switzerland. President Hassan Rohani and other senior Iranian officials have always voiced Iran’s readiness for attending the Geneva II conference without any precondition./end
