National championship for judo to run this month

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The 37th national championship for judo will take place on January 7-10 in the “Buyant Ukhaa” sports complex, Ulaanbaatar. Co-organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism and the Mongolian Judo Federation (MJF), the forthcoming championship will run in men’s and women’s 14 weight categories. The men’s and women’s team competitions will run on the final day as well. In accordance with the approved schedule of national competitions for 2014, the university judo championship will be held on February 18-20 in Central Palace of Sports, and the youth national championships in both individual and team--on March 5-8 in Arvaikheer, Ovorkhangai aimag. The Judo Grand Masters and kata national championships will take place on February 25-27. Furthermore, Ulaanbaatar city and regional championships for the sport will run from March through April. Apart of national championships, the MJF will host the East Asian Championship on May 9-11 in the “Buyant Ukhaa” sports complex, and the “Chingis Khaan” Grand Prix tournament--on July 4-6 in Ulaanbaatar.
