24 sports chosen for the Champa Games
(KPL) The National Organising Committee for the 8th National Games has said 24 kinds of sports have been listed in the December’s games in the southernmost Champassak province.
The sports are track and field, swimming, football, badminton, boxing, taekwondo, traditional boxing “mouai”, Judo, volleyball, basketball, tennis, shooting, sepak kator, petanque, table tennis, boat racing, snooker, golf, cycling, top spinning, crossbow, karatedo, pensat silat and bowling. Almost 600 medals are set for the winners of the games. These include 165 gold medals, 165 silver medals and 262 bronze medals.
Seventeen provinces and Vientiane Capital, 10 ministries, and two relevant organisations have been confirmed to send their athletes to compete in the 8th National Games, which are scheduled for 13-22 December this year.
