Japanese newspaper publishes article about Ismayilli region of Azerbaijan

Tokyo, January 18 (AzerTAc). Japanese newspaper Kankyo Ryokuka Shinbun has published an article about Azerbaijan`s Ismayilli region. Titled “Azerbaijan-Ismayilli”, the article was written by Shaki Kosugi, author of “Japanese garden” in Ismayilli region and president of Kosugi Zohen Co. The author of the article says Japan enjoys close relations with Azerbaijan which has become a leader state in the region. He notes the country rich with carbohydrate reserves, plays huge role in ensuring Europe`s energy security. Kosugu writes that Azerbaijan as a young independent state has ancient and rich culture. “President Ilham Aliyev attaches great attention to improvement of infrastructure and development of regions. As a result, the country made series steps to attract foreign tourists.” The newspaper praised Azerbaijan`s last achievements in sports, saying the country bid to host the 2024 Summer Olympics. The article also hails development of agriculture in the country. The author underlines that the Azerbaijani people have a special sympathy towards Japan, adding the government provided an aid to the Japanese people during the natural disaster happened in March, 2011. Drawing attention to close relations between Ismayilli and Ito, Japanese Shizuoka prefecture, the article says an agreement on friendship was signed on November 22, 2013. Raising awareness of its readers about Ismayilli region, the newspaper says this region is located in 185 kilometers from Baku and distinguished for its amazing nature. The author also touches upon a visit of the Azerbaijani delegation led by head of Executive Authority of Ismayilli region Mirdamed Sadigov to Japan. The article highlights meetings between the delegation and Japanese officials, saying Azerbaijani ambassador to Tokyo Gursel Ismayilzade and former Japanese ambassador to Baku Shusuke Watanabe were present at those meetings.
