Europe defeats Asia in judo

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ European judo selected team beat Asian counterpart in the inaugural ECCO Team Challenge held Saturday at the Tyumen Judo Olympic Centre, Russia. The newly organized challenge tournament featured 14 contests as a star-studded line-up including Olympic and world medalists were in action in Russia. The Asian team comprised world’s high-ranked judokas from Mongolia, Japan, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. Our judokas M.Urantsetseg competed in the women’s 48 kg contest, Kh.Tsagaanbaatar--in men’s 73 kg and D.Sumya--in women’s 57 kg. All of the Mongolians were defeated by their European rivals. The Asian team had only four wins out of ten matches.
