Aimag will cooperate with CEDAW- WATCH NGO
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The administration of Zavkhan province and the "CEDAW-WATCH", a Mongolian non-government organization /NGO/, have established a memorandum of understanding in cooperation.
On Friday, this document was inked by D.Tuvshinjargal, the governor of the aimag, and by R.Altan-Olzii, a head of the NGO.
The sides intend to affirm human rights, to develop democratic governance, to form an attitude against corruption at all levels, and to contribute to realization of "Mongolian with freedom" governmental program, which is in line with the Millennium Development Goals of Mongolia.
In frames of the memorandum, the fund will also give support to actions of the aimag such as receiving people's opinions for 2014 plans, informing the people on process of the plan approved, letting the inhabitants actively participate in the province's deeds.
The parties will cooperate in a sub-project themed "Citizens' active participation will cut corruption", which will be carried out in frames of the "Active Partnership and Public Engagement for Accountable Localities" by the Mercy Corps with a fund from the US agency for International development. Aims of this sub-project is to make and then implement a plan against corruption in 2014 based on public participation, also to improve information delivering, strengthen the democratic governance, support the development.
