Mongolia-New Zealand first consultative meeting runs

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia and New Zealand held Monday the first consultative meeting between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs. The aims were to exchange views on the bilateral relations and cooperation, on multilateral ties and regional urgent problems. The sides met in the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, co-chaired by Mr Ts.Batbayar, a director of the Ministry’s Department of Policy Planning and Research, and by Mr Graham Morton, a director the North Asia Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The two countries attached a great importance to this meeting as they have many common things, for example, the agriculture being a pillar of economies, small in size nations, low population. New Zealand’s agricultural exports reached USD 10 billion in 2013. New Zealand is a candidate for election to the United Nations Security Council for a two-year term from January 2015 until December 2016. The elections will run in New York at the UN General Assembly in October of 2014. Mongolia has introduced to its state service the New Zealand’s new public management experience, many Mongolian public servants have studied in this country thanks to its Government's grants over the last ten years. The same day, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Gankhuyag received Mr Morton.
