Royal Thai Army,Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University ink deal on research cooperation

BANGKOK, February 12 (TNA) - The Royal Thai Army and Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University have agreed to exchange their security-related knowledge gained from research projects. Major General M.L. Raweewat Kasemsant, Director of the Army Research and Development Office, and Ruedet Kerdwichai, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University President, signed an agreement at the university in Bangkok on Wednesday. Besides, both parties will jointly develop personnel, academic knowledge, relevant plans, collaboration and databases, as well as mobilize resources and publicize their partnership. Their cooperation under the agreement also includes seminars on research projects regarding solutions to violence-plagued Thai far South, studies on people's attitudes on political roles of the Royal Thai Army and research projects on support for retired soldiers to participate in domestic politics. Ruedet told journalists that a main objective of the cooperation is to develop people's acceptance of the Royal Thai Army, especially amid ongoing domestic political protests. Major General M.L. Raweewat said that programs, projects and activities under the agreed cooperation can serve the need of the general public and can also develop the capabilities of army personnel.(TNA)
