CITIZENS’ REPRESENTATIVE KHURAL MEMBERS HAVING TRAINING

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Members of the Citizens’ Representative Khural of Bulgan province are being involved in a professional skills training in frames of a project on fortifying capability of local self-governance bodies. The secretary-general of the Parliamentary Office and Mongolian director of the project Mr B.Boldbaatar participated in the training’s opening Monday in the aimag. Co-implemented by the Parliamentary Office, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and UNDP, the project aims to improve responsibilities of the local self-governance organizations and local services, to strengthen capability of Citizens’ Representative Khurals in implementing monitoring, to work out a national training programme, and to create its realization mechanism. The project also focuses on introducing best experiences regarding ways of ensuring civil participation and upgrading a legal environment for local self-governance bodies. The training will last in first and second quarters of 2014, involving 6,000 members of Citizens’ Representative Khurals of 16 aimags and the city’s six districts. The trainees are given many lessons themed, for example, "Constitutional and legal basis for local self-governance bodies", "Civil participation: Communication with people", "Organizing meeting of Citizens’ Representative Khural", "Local budgetary and financial management", "Prevention of corruption", "Environment–Green Development" and "Human rights and gender".
