THAI board chair resigns

BANGKOK, February 21 (TNA) - Ampon Kittiampon, Chairman of Thai Airways International (THAI) Board, has decided to resign, effective from March 10, 2014, following recent resignation of Sorajak Kasemsuvan as the THAI president. Suvimol Bualerd, head of THAI's Corporate Secretariat Department, informed the management of the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) that the THAI board of directors on Friday approved Ampon's resignation as the THAI board chairman, but Ampon will remain as a member of the THAI board. Suvimol told journalists that the THAI board then appointed Thai Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Prajin Jantong, currently THAI deputy chairman, as the new THAI board chairman. Earlier, the THAI Labor Union had repeated its demand for Ampon's resignation, accusing him of causing losses to the national airline.(TNA)
