Earthquake information centers to be established

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Such centers will be set up in three provinces, says the "Government Information" booklet published on Monday. Under the governmental resolution, the centers will be established in Bogd soum of Bayankhongor province, in Mandalgovi city of Dundgovi aimag and in Sukhbaatar city of Selenge aimag, with missions to run studies to determine locations and sizes of earthquakes and to maintain the seismic database on earthquake parameters and their effects, which serves as a solid foundation for basic and applied earth science researches. The centers will also study measures that can reduce the adverse effects of earthquakes.
