Laos, Vietnam further cooperation on finance
(KPL) The 5th meeting of Lao and Vietnamese Cooperation Steering Committees of Ministries of Finance held last Friday, at the Lao Plaza Hotel in Vientiane to enhance mutual cooperation, exchange lessons on financial management between two countries.
The meeting was to follow up a bilateral cooperation agreement between Lao and Vietnamese financial ministries signed January 2007 and materialized the output of bilateral cooperation meeting in October in Vietnam.
Attending the event were Ms Viengthong Siphandone, Deputy Minister of Finance of Laos and her Vietnamese counterpart Mr. Nguyen Cong Nghiep and officials of both sides.
Ms Viengthong, Deputy Minister of Finance said that this annual meeting of cooperation steering committees of two financial ministries between Laos and Vietnam to sum up previous achievement of the cooperation so as to further carry out next year plan cooperation in finance management (2007-10) between two ministries.
A two day meeting, two ministries highlighted the achievement in the implementation of bilateral cooperation plan that Vietnam helped in draft legal documents on finance, structure, human resources development and the construction of Dongkhamxang Finance School which was opened for public use on 19 November.
