Malaysian, Indonesian Poets To Participate In Srikandi Poetry Recital Event In KL Saturday

KUALA LUMPUR, March 8 (Bernama) -- More than 15 famous poets from Malaysia and Indonesia will participate in the Srikandi poetry recital event at the Rebung Restaurant in Bangsar, here Saturday. The event, organised by the Association of Sasterawan Nusantara Melayu Raya (Numera), is aimed at bridging the gap between poets in the region and to uphold the status of Malay language and literature. Numera president, National Laureate Ahmad Kamal Abdullah, or better known as Kemala, said the event was aimed at bringing veteran and junior poets to meet under the roof and thus, enabling them to communicate and share their knowledge, experience and hopes. Among the famous Malaysian poets to attend the event are Dr Zurinah Hassan, Dr Siti Zainon Ismail, Zaiton Ajmain, Raja Rajeshwari Seetha Raman and Teratai Abadi, as well as Lili Siti Multatuliana Sutan Iskandar from Indonesia. --BERNAMA
