German MPsˈ Planned Iran Visit Eyes Promoting Iranian Tourism

Berlin, March 11, IRNA -- A planned visit by the German parliamentary tourist committee to Iran is aimed at promoting tourism in that country, the head of the committee Heike Brehmer told IRNA on the sidelines of the just-concluded ITB tourism exhibition in Berlin. When our committee visits Iran next year, we can play a pioneer role and advertise a lot about Iranˈs tourist attractions. We can tell Germans how great the country is and urge them to visit the country, Brehmer said. We can tell people how beautiful Iranian beaches are and how great Iranian culture and its people are, she added. Brehmer reiterated the objective of the committeeˈs Iran trip was to deepen ties with the Iranian side and promote people to people contacts. The Christian Democratic lawmaker stressed she was impressed about Iranˈs tourism potential. Brehmer had also toured the Iranian stand and talked to Iranian tourist operators who highlighted their countryˈs tourist attractions at the Berlin exhibit. Numerous Iranian tourism companies attended the five-day event which offered a complete overview of all products linked to either holiday or business travel. A total of 10,147 travel groups from 189 nations registered to participate in the worldˈs biggest travel trade fair./end
