Putin thanks Paralympic athletes for triumphant performance

SOCHI, March 17 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has thanked the members of the Paralympic national team for their triumphant performance at the Sochi Olympic Games. “It is impossible to enumerate all your achievements. Your performance was so bright that it is pointless to speak about it, repeating myself,” the president told Paralympic athletes on Monday. Putin said the result shown by the team that had won 80 medals and was number one on medal count was the best not only for a Russian national team, but also the best ever result in the history of Paralympic Games. “It is just firework of medals,” the president said, congratulating the athletes on their well-deserved awards.
