Foreign Ministries hold consultative meeting

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The first consultative meeting between Foreign ministries of Mongolia and South Korea ran in Ulaanbaatar March 25 to discuss public diplomacy issues. The Mongolian part was led by Ts.Batbayar, a director of Policy Planning Department of the Foreign Ministry, the S.Korean--by Mr Li Dung-gi, a chief of Cultural Exchange Bureau of S.Korean Foreign Affairs Ministry. The sides shared views on cooperation opportunities for advanced public diplomacy, mutual understanding, historical-cultural awareness raising and promotion among the peoples of Mongolia and South Korea. Emphasizing the role of the press in awareness-raising about a country and its peoples, the Mongolian part expressed willingness to increase exchanges between press and media organizations. The S.Korean side briefed on cultural activities planned for the Mongolian people, especially the youth, that are to take place through S.Korean Embassy in Ulaanbaatar, and asked the Mongolian part to support these actions. After that, the sides agreed to actively cooperate in these matters and to hold this kind of meeting activities on a regular base.
