"CADBURY BOOST TOTALLY NUTS" CHOCOLATE SNACK BAR NOT SOLD IN MALAYSIAN MARKETS
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 (Bernama) -- The Health Ministry has advised consumers
not to be unduly worried about a recent report on the possibility of the
Australian-made Cadbury Boost Totally Nuts (60g) being contaminated with plastic
pieces because the chocolate snack bar is not sold in local markets.
The ministry's director of the food safety and quality division, Noraini
Datuk Mohd Othman, in a statement issued here Monday, said checks by the
ministry also found the chocolate snack bar was not sold in duty-free shops in
the country.
The statement was issued following an order by Singapore's food authority
for local importers and retailers to recall the Australian-made snack bar from
the market immediately.
Singapore's Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) ordered the recall of
the product due to the possible presence of plastic pieces from the
manufacturing process.
AVA took the precautionary measure after it was informed by the Food
Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) that Cadbury Schweppes Pty Ltd in
Australia was voluntarily recalling its product.
However, only the Cadbury Boost Totally Nuts (60g) with the 15-06-09 Best
Before date is affected.
