BOLLYWOOD ACTOR TO RECEIVE AWARD ON DEC 6

MELAKA (Malaysia), Nov 25 (Bernama) -- Popular Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan
has agreed to come to southern state of Melaka on Dec 6 to receive his Datukship
(title honour), and he will be attired in a black Baju Melayu and a songkok (a
complete Malaysian national costume) at the investiture.

Shah Rukh Khan was bestowed the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM), which
carries the title "Datuk", in conjunction with the 70th birthday of Melaka state
Governor Mohd Khalil Yaakob on Oct 11.

He was unable to come on Nov 29 as originally scheduled because of work
commitment.

Melaka State Secretary Omar Kaseh said Monday the 43-year-old Bollywood
actor would fly in to Kuala Lumpur at 7.30 am on Dec 6 and attend the
investiture at 10am in Ayer Keroh, here.

He said in a statement that Shah Rukh Khan would also visit several
attractions in the Melaka World Heritage Site, including the Menara Taming Sari,
Jonker Walk and Kampung Morten, ride a trishaw, and meet fans at the "Jom ke
Melaka Bandaraya Warisan Dunia" at the Dataran MBMB (Melaka city council
square).

Shah Rukh Khan is scheduled to catch a flight to Mumbai at the KL
International Airport at 8 pm the same day.
