Austrian delegation visits Azerbaijani Parliament

Baku, April 1 (AzerTAc). A delegation of the Austrian National Council has today visited the Parliament of Azerbaijan. Head of the working group on Azerbaijan-Austria interparliamentary ties Javid Gurbanov noted bilateral relations between the two countries were based on ancient historical roots. Javid Gurbanov noted that Austria was one of the first countries to recognize the independence of Azerbaijan, and stressed the importance of reciprocal visits in terms of strengthening bilateral bonds between the two countries. He also spoke of Azerbaijan’s achievements, rapid development, and works done for integration into the Europe. Second President of the National Council Karlheinz Kopf noted Austria was interested in enhancing bilateral ties with Azerbaijan. He said that reciprocal visits of members of the two countries` parliaments contributed to development of the bilateral relationship. He expressed confidence that bilateral ties between Austria and Azerbaijan would continue to expand. They also discussed the interparliamentary ties and prospects for cooperation in a variety of fields.
