Georgia, Russia eye Prague for ministers' talks
TBILISI, April 10 (Itar-Tass) - Senior government representatives from Russia and Georgia are set to meet for talks in Prague next week, Russia's negotiator told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
A date is expected within days to confirm discussions between the Georgian prime minister’s special representative for relations with Russia, Zurab Abashidze, and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin. Talks had previously been set for March 4, March 14 and then to an unspecified date.
Earlier discussions between Abashidze and Karasin opened near Geneva in December 2012, the first between official representatives since hostilities over the bordering South Ossetia region flared in 2008. The next four meetings were held in Prague in March, June, September and November 2013.
Abashidze said the new encounter would focus on "issues of co-operation between the two countries in trade and the economy, and the possibility of meetings between the two countries’ leaders”.
