Russian delegation leaving PACE spring session urgently, says MP

STRASOURG, April 10 (Itar-Tass) -- Russian delegation is leaving the spring session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe urgently in the wake of resrictions that PACE had imposed on its powers, the head of the delegation, Dr. Alexei Pushkov told reporters. "In the future, the delegation will consider the prospects for its further activities at PACE," he said. PACE passed a resolution on Russia earlier on Thursday, by which it denied the Russian delegation's right to vote at the Assembly sessions over Russia's reunification with Crimea and dismissed the delegation from all the governing bodies of the assembly. A total of 145 deputies voted in favor of the document, while 21 deputies voted against it and another 22 abstained from voting. The delegates supported a report by the chief of thew monitoring commission, Stefan Schennach of Austria, who proposed to expel Russian representatives from all the governing bodies of the assembly and from observe missions at elections.
