Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia to review their co-operation on development triangle
(KPL) The 5th summit of the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam (CLV) Development Triangle to be opened in Vientiane on 26 November will concentrate to review and estimate the progress of co-operation implementation in the framework of development triangle.
During the CLV summit which will take place on 26 November, the three countries will sign: “first, a memorandum of agreement on the draft for the preparation of the special policy for the development of the triangular CLV zone (Indochinese Triangle); and second, the Vientiane declaration on a fundamental development of this zone.”
The summit to be attended by Prime Minister of the three countries will concentrate to review the implementation of Vientiane Action Plan as well as the master plan for development triangle adopted by the leaders of the three countries at the third summit in Vientiane in 2004 and the results of the fourth summit in 2006 in Vietnam. The leaders will also discuss to find the ways for their future co-operation.
The summit is expected to approve and sign three main documents including Vientiane Declaration on strengthen the co-operation in development triangle areas and the resolution of the 5th summit the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam (CLV) Development Triangle.
The development of the Triangle Zone located at the border of the three countries, linking Cambodia’s three provinces Mondulkiri, Rattanakiri and Steung Treng to three provinces of Laos - Sarvane, Sekong and Atapeu and four others of Vietnam.
Development Triangle projects were initiated by Prime Minister Hun Sen in 1999.
