Laos, Thailand exchange information on tourism

(KPL) The Lao Airlines held in Luang Prabang last week a seminar on exchanging information on tourism of Laos’s Luang Prabang province and Udonthany province of Thailand.
The seminar was chaired by the Head of Tourism Service of Luang Prabang province, Mr Khamphoui Phommavong and the Deputy Governor of Udonthany province, Mr Kitphet Sypan. The attendees of this seminar were the representatives of the Lao Airlines, Thai International and tourism-related businesses from the two provinces. The people involved in tourism in Luang Prabang province reported on their business experiences and how they strived to preserve the Lao culture. Furthermore, the two sides exchanged information on the services provided at hotels, guest houses and restaurants and how they communicated with tourists.
Luang Prabang province has 30 tourist companies. Luang Prabang has been connected by direct flights to eight destinations: Vientiane, Chiang Mai (northern Thailand), Kunming (capital of Yunnan, southwestern China), Bangkok (Thai capital), Udonthani (northeastern Thailand), Hanoi (capital of Vietnam), Siem Riep (Cambodia), and Pakse (southernmost province of Laos).
As the world heritage town in Laos declared by UNESCO, Luang Prabang in northern Laos is a major jewel of tourism in the region.
