Thailand's caretaker science minister passes away

BANGKOK, April 30 (TNA) - Thailand's Caretaker Science and Technology Minister Phiraphan Phalusuk passed away on Wednesday morning at the age of 68. Phiraphan had suffered from ischemic stroke since last Sunday and then underwent an emergency brain surgery on Tuesday. Doctors at Phyathai Nawamin Hospital on the outskirts of Bangkok, where he had been treated, pronounced his death on April 30. Phiraphan was born on June 10, 1946. He was a former MP of Yasothon Province in the Thai Northeast for six times under the ruling Pheu Thai Party, in which he was also a key member of the legal team and was later appointed a science and technology minister.(TNA)
