Iran elected president of INS working group

Tehran, May 6, IRNA - Iran was elected president of the working group of the International Numbering System (INS) at the 46th Session of Codex Committee on Food Additives (CCFA) held in Hong Kong, Iranˈs Food and Drug Organization reported on Monday. The United States of America was elected as the vice president of this working group. The 46th session of Codex Committee on Food Additives (CCFA) opened in Hong Kong on March 17. It was the first CCFA meeting held in Hong Kong since China started serving as the host country of CCFA. Representatives from 54 member countries and one member organization as well as 34 international organizations worldwide participated in this yearˈs session to hold in-depth discussions and exchange views on various issues related to the General Standard of Food Additives and other safety regulations of food additives. Upon completion of the session, the Report of the 46th Session of CCFA including conclusions and recommendations will be submitted to the 37th Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC) for deliberation and adoption this July. end
