MALAYSIAN FEARED TRAPPED IN TAJ MAHAL, MUMBAI

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 28 (Bernama) -- A Malaysian national, who was in Mumbai
on business, is believed trapped in the Taj Mahal Hotel, one of the hotels in
the vicinity of the bombing incidents by terrorists in India.

The Malaysian Consul in Mumbai, Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah, when contacted by
Bernama today said the Consulate was still making efforts to obtain the latest
information on the Malaysian national.

However, he said, no report had been received about any Malaysian being
killed in the incidents so far.

At least 80 people, including a foreign tourist and four senior police
officers, were killed while more than 250 were injured in the serial bombing
incidents.

There were shootings and bombing incidents near the Taj International Hotel
and the Trident (formerly Oberoi Hotel) where hostages were taken and about
2,000 guests and hotel employees were stranded.

Among the terrorists' targets were the busiest railway station in the city,
Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminal (CST), formerly the Victoria Terminal, a world
heritage site.

Wan Zaidi said he was made to understand that the hostage situation at the
hotels involved had yet to be resolved.
