Putin, OSCE chairperson-in-office to discuss Ukraine crisis

MOSCOW, May 6 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet in Moscow on Wednesday with Swiss Federal President and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Didier Burkhalter to discuss the crisis in Ukraine, the Kremlin press service reports on Tuesday. “The heads of state are also expected to focus on key issues of Russian-Swiss cooperation, including within the context of the 200th anniversary of diplomatic relations marked this year,” it said. Burkhalter’s planned visit to Moscow was discussed during Putin’s telephone conversation on Sunday with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who praised Russia’s assistance in setting free military observers from some European countries, including from Germany, detained in the Donetsk region, eastern Ukraine. Putin and Merkel marked the importance of efficient international measures, first of all within the OSCE framework, towards de-escalation of the Ukraine crisis. Learn more on itar-tass.com
