Greek President, Abdullah bin Zayed review ways of enhancing bilateral ties

Athens: President of Greece Karolos Papoulias yesterday received UAE Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in the capital, Athens. During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah conveyed the regards of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Greek president, along with his good wishes for incessant progress and prosperity for Greece and its people. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah stressed the importance of the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing and promoting them in various fields, and the need for strengthening their economic relations in the areas of energy and investment in particular. On his part, the Greek president asked H.H. Sheikh Abdullah to convey his greetings to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, emphasising his country's keenness to strengthen its relations with UAE, to which, he said, his government attaches special attention because of the prominent position the country has reached. During the meeting, both parties reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and means of strengthening them, in addition to a number of issues of common interest. Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of State, and Sultan Mohammed Al Ali, UAE Ambassador to Greece, attended the meeting. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
