Akhbar Al Sa'a: International Zayed Charity Marathon is a UAE message of peace from New York

New York, NY (WAM): The Akhbar Al Sa'a (News of the Hour) Bulletin, has declared that the International Zayed Charity Marathon, which launched its 10th edition last Saturday under the generous patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, in New York's Central Park, highlights the ability of the United Arab Emirates to be successful all over the world. The event, which is an initiative of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, conveys the UAE leadership's message of respect for human rights and basic freedoms for all people around the world, the bulletin remarked. Under the title, "UAE Message of Peace from New York", the bulletin said that the marathon has become a prominent annual sports event and has acquired great interest with thousands keen to participate. In order to maintain safety and abide by Central Park by-laws, the organisers his year capped participants at 13,000. The bulletin pointed out that this confirms the great development achieved by the marathon every year and the effort exerted by the Organising Higher Committee for the event, headed by Lt. General Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi. The bulletin, issued by the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research, ECSSR, said, "The marathon proceeds go entirely to one of the American institutions specialising in research for the treatment of kidney disease, and through this, the UAE can deliver a message of peace to the world, not only in its own name, but also on behalf of Arabs and Muslims, as affirmed by Dr. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi, Director-General of the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research, who attended the marathon for the second time. The bulletin stated that the International Zayed Charity Marathon, which bears the name of a great leader, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who had a full record of service to humanity and extending a helping hand and support to needy people, affirmed that the pivotal position of the humanitarian and charitable policies of the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, perseveres in providing aid to all those in need around the world, regardless of their race, nationality, gender, colour, faith or creed. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
