Thai Commercial Attaches to Discuss Export Promotion
BANGKOK, May 18 (TNA) - As political crisis is continuing to affect Thailand’s exports, commercial attaches from 64 offices worldwide are scheduled to hold a two-day meeting, starting Monday, and discuss on how export could be boosted during the second half this year and to also draft an export plan for next year.
The International Trade Promotion Department Director – General Nantawan Sakuntanaga said that more than 30 private-run trade organisations will also participate in the session which will be held at the Commerce Ministry.
On Monday, participants will confer on how officials could penetrate oversea markets during the second half this year, said Mrs. Nantawan. They will on Tuesday propose marketing strategy, export targets and to also fix measures in boosting exports during the second half of 2014 and for calendar 2015.
Mrs. Nantawan said that her department has evaluated that Thailand’s exports to the US, Africa and Russia have grown satisfactorily while exports to Thailand’s fellow members in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations ought to improve in the second half of 2014. (TNA)
