Violence continues in Ukraine - Lavrov

MOSCOW, June 2 (Itar-Tass) - The West said violence would stop in Ukraine after the elections, Russia’s top diplomat has said.
“But it’s quite the other way around,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said after talks with Mauretania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Ould Teguedi on Monday.
Russia is planning to submit a draft resolution on Ukraine to the U.N. Security Council, he said.
“The draft resolution will demand violence be stopped immediately and talks start to cease fire. The draft resolution will also envision the creation of humanitarian corridors,” Lavrov said.
“We voice serious concern over the events in Ukraine. People in Ukraine are dying every day,” he said.
“We consciously formulated the initiative to take measures for assisting to peaceful civilians. It is based on the Geneva statement. We hope that our initiative will be interpreted right,” Lavrov said.
