HE the Culture Minister Meets ICCROM Director General

Doha, June 15 (QNA) - HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr. Hamad Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari Sunday morning met at his office with the Director-General of the UNESCO's International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) Stefano De Caro and the Director of ICCROM Regional Centre in Sharjah Dr. Zaki Aslan, who are currently visiting Doha to participate in the 38th meeting of the World Heritage Committee, held in Doha between 15-20 June. Talks during the meeting addressed the joint cooperation between ICCROM and the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage, especially after the State of Qatar became a member since 2012. The two sides also discussed the Project to integrate intangible heritage in education system. Director-General of ICCROM proposed the idea of convening a meeting to be attended by experts in the field of development of educational tools to create a kind of communication between the theoretical and practical aspects of cultural heritage. He also expressed appreciation for the support of the State of Qatar for the organization and the Regional Centre in Sharjah, during a meeting of Arab culture ministers in Doha in 2010, during the celebration of Doha as the capital of Arab culture. He invited HE the Minister to attend the inauguration ceremony of the new premises of ICCROM Regional Centre in Sharjah. (QNA)
