Lavrov confirms strategic partnership with Azerbaijan

BAKU, June 18 (Itar-Tass) - Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has confirmed strategic partnership with Azerbaijan. Both countries have common interests on the international arena, Lavrov said at talks with Azerbaijani counterpart Ilkham Aliyev on Wednesday. “Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin sends hello to you and remembers last year’s visit and informal meetings with you. We share your views on strategic partnership and the development of cooperation in all fields - economic, investment and humanitarian,” Lavrov said. “Today my colleague Elmar Mamedyarov and I have discussed preparations for the Caspian Summit, the Karabakh settlement and our common tasks in the U.N., the OSCE [Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe] and the Council of Europe,” he said.
