MALAYSIA'S FRONTKEN SETS UP UNIT IN INDONESIA
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 1 (Bernama) -- Frontken Corp Bhd, a leading player in the surface metamorphosis technology industry, has set up a 95 percent-owned
subsidiary, PT Frontken Indonesia.
In a statement here Monday, executive chairman/managing director,
Willie Wong, said the company would continue to establish its presence despite
the
anticipated macroeconomic challenges ahead.
"We believe that this is a suitable time to set foot in the country so that
we are able to ride the uptrend when business conditions improve.
"Nevertheless, we believe that our business prospects remain intact despite
the anticipated global slowdown," he said.
Meanwhile, Frontken's revenue for the nine months ended Sept 30, 2008 rose
by 24 percent to RM98.9 million (US$28.25 million)from RM79.8 million (US$22.8
million) in the previous corresponding period.
Net profit jumped to RM16.4 million (US$4.68 million) from RM4.0 million
(US$1.14 million) in the similar period of 2007.
