SILKAIR MOUNTS EXTRA FLIGHTS TO PHUKET FOR WHOLE OF THIS WEEK
SINGAPORE, Dec 2 (Bernama) -- Singapore's SilkAir will be mounting 13 additional flights between Singapore and Phuket from Tuesday until Sunday to help clear the build-up of customers affected by the closure of Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport.
This is in addition to the four to five regular flights per day on the
route, the airline said Monday.
The 13 flights which would be operated by Airbus A320 and A319 aircraft
would consist of two additional daily flights every day till Sunday, except
tomorrow, when there would be three additional flights.
SilkAir would continue to monitor the situation in Thailand closely and
add capacity to its Thai routes in the coming days, if demand required, the
company said.
As of Monday, SilkAir has mounted eight additional flights to Phuket and
three additional flights to Chiang Mai to cater for stranded passengers affected
by Bangkok's airport closure.
Since last Wednesday, SilkAir had been accepting Singapore Airlines tickets
between Bangkok-Singapore for travel on Phuket-Singapore or Chiang
Mai-Singapore, without additional charges, the airline added.
