KUWAIT, Dec 2 (Bernama) -- Malaysian King Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin wants Malaysians residing in Kuwait to always maintain the good image of Malaysia.

The King said they should also continue to respect the customs and way of
life of the local community in whatever things that they were doing while they
were in the Gulf state.

he had clearly seen that the Gulf state had great potentials for progress in
future.

"As such, I believe it is important for the government to strengthen
friendly ties and cooperation at the bilateral stage, as well as at the regional
and international level," he said at a royal luncheon with the Malaysian
community in Kuwait at the Sheraton Kuwait, here Monday.

Malaysian Queen Tuanku Nur Zahirah also graced the occasion which was
also attended by Energy, Water and Communications Minister Shaziman Abu Mansor
as minister-in-attendance, Malaysian Ambassador to Kuwait Ashaary Sani and his
wife, Karimah Mat Noordin, special guests and about 150 Malaysian
nationals.

The Malaysian King and his consort arrived in Kuwait on Sunday for a
three-day state visit at the invitation of the Kuwaiti government.

Tuanku Mizan also said he was proud when told that Malaysian nationals

petroleum and information technology sectors.
