M`SIA TO HOST FIRST AIPA CAUCUS ON DRUG AND HUMAN SMUGGLING BY MID-JULY

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 3 (Bernama) -- Malaysia will host the first Asean
Inter-Parliamentary Association (AIPA) Caucus on laws pertaining to drug and
human smuggling by mid-July.

Lower House of Parliament Deputy Speaker Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar who
is also AIPA Caucus chair said China, Russia, Japan, European Union, Australia,
Canada and New Zealand would be invited as observers.

"The aim is to streamline for the first time laws on drug and human
smuggling.

"Because law in each Asean country is different, we set up the AIPA Caucus
to streamline how laws on drug and human smuggling can be harmonised as an Asean
law," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby Tuesday.
