KZT 136 mln to hold Senate elections

"Republican budget allocates KZT 136 mln to hold elections to the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan," chairman of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan Kuandyk Turgankulov told a briefing. Nomination of candidates will last until August 31 while registration will take place until September 11. Pre-election campaigning will start September 12 to run till September 29 midnight. The regional, Astana and Almaty election commissions are responsible for voting, vote counting and announcement of results. As earlier reported, the elections to the Kazakh Senate are set for October 1, 2014.
