Leaders’ activities on National Day

(KPL) Leaders of the Party and Government, on 1 December laid a wreath at the Unknown Soldier Monument, That Luang Square, in commemoration of the national heroes and soldiers who dedicated their lives to the national revolution, on the occasion of the National Day, 2 December. The group was led by Choummaly Sayasone, Party Secretary General and President of the Lao PDR. Last week, the leaders also visited patients at hospitals in Vientiane in anticipation of the 33rd National Day (2 Dec). Most of the patients are retired officials and veterans.
The visitors included Mr. Thongbanh Seng-aphone, Party Central Committee and Minister of Public Security, Mr. Vongpheth Saykeuyajongtoua, Party Central Committee member and President of the National Federation of Trade Unions, and Mrs. Bounpheng Mounephosay, Party Central Committee member and Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office.
The hospitals visited included the Laos-Soviet Friendship Hospital, Mahosot Hospital and the military Hospital 103.
The visitors highly valued the efforts of health workers of the hospitals in their treatment services for patients, and presented gifts to patients.
